Artisan is globally renowned for its innovative furniture design and quality craftsmanship. Handmade from seven species of solid timber, Artisan pieces are produced by craftsmen in a large Bosnian factory surrounded by dense forest, the once was old school woodwork shop with a 60-year history of producing fine timber products was transformed into the modern and technologically advanced facility that it is today. Through their collections as well as individual pieces, Artisan offers a wide range of furniture such as seating, tables, sideboards, beds, lamps. The brand insists that, at the end of the production process, the furniture that adorns your living environment is as natural as the wood from which it has originated.

Welding, soldering, bending, polishing, painting, assembling, blowing glass, and carving leather all take place in their own factory or at friends' workshops in the region. Swedese is a classic Swedish furniture producer with a strong anchor in both the public and domestic domain. Swedese's ideals are the same today as they have been for the past seventy years. These are to create beautiful furniture for the future, which build on the foundations of Scandinavian modern traditions, designed by forward-looking designers who share in the timeless ideals of architecture. Swedese was founded in 1945 by the two brothers Yngve and Jerker Ekström and Bertil Sjöqvist, under the company name ESE Möbler. The headquarters are located to Vaggeryd in Småland, Sweden, where one of the factories can be found. The second factory is located in Äng, a small village outside Nässjö, Sweden.

The Icelandic Embassy in Denmark teams up with the Iceland Design and Architecture center, producer of the DesignMarch festival and Business Iceland to present two different exhibitions showcasing the diversity of Icelandic design. In the foyer of the Embassy Hae/Hi: Designing Friendship, a collaborative project featuring Icelandic and Seattle based design studios, will be addressing the acts that take place, and the objects associated with, arriving and departing, greetings and goodbyes. Hungry? Outside the embassy please have yourself award winning freshly made wool pizza´s from Flétta and Ýrúrarí made from leftovers from the Icelandic wool industry. The Embassy is located at the North Atlantic House, Bryggen, an old storage building.

cc-tapis is an Italian rug maker which produces contemporary hand-made rugs. The company was founded by Nelcya Chamszadeh and Fabrizio Cantoni in France. In 2011 cc-tapis moved to Milan where a team of designers lead by Daniele Lora, art-director and partner, innovate through a new approach to traditional methods.   A strong respect for the materials and for ancient craft is reflected in the company’s eco-friendly approach to every step of production, ranging from the hand spinning of the softest materials to the use of purified rainwater for the washing of the final products, making each one of cc-tapis rugs unique.

The Material Way is a new collaborative platform for material-based studies focused on supporting curious creators who strive to craft a more holistic, local, and nature-minded future.
