The Soft Solids explore the intentional use and repurposing of natural material—wax, reflecting on its potential for regeneration within design practice.

Marie Graff is the owner and creative soul behind the Danish design company Kodanska. Kodanska – translating to ’Copenhagen Street’ from Czech to Danish – is the name of the street in the heart of Prague where Marie lived with her family for four years. Inspired by her life in Prague and her roots back in Denmark, Marie chose the name ’Kodanska’ as a good way to tell her personal story. This is the core stone of all Kodanska design as it hides small personal stories, that makes the designs unique and gives it a very special meaning. Copenhagen-based design company FRIPON is relaunching the classic Philosopher Lamp, designed by the Danish architect Lars-Erik Ejlers in the early 1990s. The lamp was originally made for Restaurant Cap Horn in Nyhavn. In the following years, the lamp, designed with a notable brass shade, became a rarity due to very limited distribution but still found its way and is gracing iconic bars and restaurants throughout Copenhagen. FRIPON’s first endeavour is to breathe new life into the classic Philosopher Lamp, once again.

The Philospher Lamp is produced locally in workshops located in the metropolitan area of Copenhagen.
