While new designers have since joined, the founding principles remain unchanged: to create beautiful, functional and well–crafted furniture that supports everyday life at home. Koukos de Lab is a material–driven design studio based in Lesvos, Greece, exploring sustainable design through research, experimentation, and local production. The studio develops innovative materials and objects by transforming agricultural by–products into meaningful design resources. At the core of its practice is Koukoutsi, an eco–material made from the final waste of olive oil production, primarily olive cores and pips. Designed as a sustainable alternative to conventional materials, Koukoutsi combines durability, water resistance, and a distinctive tactile quality. Suitable for objects, furniture, and surface applications, it reflects Koukos de Lab’s commitment to circular design and responsible material transformation today, locally.

The concept behind Woodnotes, established in 1987, is to combine artistic creativity inspired by Finland’s rugged nature with technology to shape beautiful local raw materials. The softness of wool, the purity of paper and the glow of linen define a collection of timeless products with rare aesthetic quality. Woodnotes’ unique paper yarn innovation results in durable, allergy–friendly designer rugs and blinds made from paper yarn and cotton. These are presented alongside outdoor rugs, tufted wool–linen carpets, and atelier–woven rugs in cotton–paper and wool–paper yarns, among others.
