A captivating exploration of the diverse world of materials and their endless possibilities, Transcendence will challenge us to go beyond our current understanding of materials. Visitors will be immersed into the natural and rich textures, the elegance of sleek surfaces and the translucent allure of biobased materials. Each display invites contemplation and appreciation of the role materials play in shaping our surroundings and relationship with design. Exhibitors include: Anklang, Bill amberg Studio, Cosentino, Daydreaming Objects, Designercarpets Drechsle, Ekbacken Studios, Fabric Forest, GoEs, Grid Systems, Manu, Mari Koppanen, Martin Kechayas, Nanette Dekool, Paper Paste Living, Plastiz, Schneid Studio, Sheyn, Studio Eggi, Thayra Correira, Troldtekt, Zeitraum and Wuud. With special thanks to Aesop and De Ploeg for their support and contribution.

The exhibition, TRANSCENDENCE, takes place in an industrial hall formerly used to produce ship engines at District Refshaleøen in Copenhagen with sharpened focus on materials and sustainability. Architect and curator, Frederikke Aagard will install a dreamy vision in this rather raw space made from natural and recycled materials, which will be reused after the exhibition. Through insightful installation and hands-on demonstrations, this exhibition invites visitors to delve deeper into our perception and understanding of materials and gain a newfound appreciation for their significance in the objects we create and consume. TRANSCENDENCE will bring together big and small, commercial and research, designers and craftsmen - all idealists, who want to make an impact in manufacturing, sourcing, distribution, and longevity of design.

During 3daysofdesign, Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Exhibition will be held in the craftsmens' house, Moltke's Mansion, an impressive Baroque building in city center, owned by the Association of Craftsmen in Copenhagen. The exhibition is displaying unique master pieces by master craftsmen, as well as works from final exams, apprentice pieces and works by more established cabinetmakers. Since 1554, Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild has been a gathering place for both furniture makers and building carpenters. Common for all Guild's members is the interest in noble craftsmanship, and not least the necessity of supporting the professional educational training.

Marie Graff is the owner and creative soul behind the Danish design company Kodanska. Kodanska – translating to ’Copenhagen Street’ from Czech to Danish – is the name of the street in the heart of Prague where Marie lived with her family for four years. Inspired by her life in Prague and her roots back in Denmark, Marie chose the name ’Kodanska’ as a good way to tell her personal story. This is the core stone of all Kodanska design as it hides small personal stories, that makes the designs unique and gives it a very special meaning. Marie focus on shapes, colours, the quality of the process of handmade work and the aesthetics of the final result. Discover and enjoy their unique handmade collections.

Since its inception in 2013, Signe Byrdal Terenziani has facilitated the growth of the design community in her role as Managing Director. It all began as a small design event held in an old warehouse in Nordhavn, a harbour area overlooking Copenhagen’s waterfront. Four Danish brands launched the event as a joint initiative: Montana, Erik Jørgensen (now owned by Fredericia Furniture), Anker & Co, and Kvadrat. At that time, Copenhagen lacked a proper design festival, since the previous annual furniture fair at Bella Center closed down some years before.

Today, the 3daysofdesign festival extends to the entire city of Copenhagen and is considered the most significant annual design festival in Scandinavia and Northern Europe.

Each year since its inception, 3daysofdesign has grown in popularity exponentially. In 2024, over 400 brands exhibited at the festival, where over 45.000 visitors could choose from as many as 500 events to attend in various design districts across Copenhagen, such as design talks, product launches, networking, etc.

3daysofdesign takes place every year in Copenhagen mainly in showrooms and galleries during June, Wednesday to Friday. In 2025 the festival will be held from 18 — 20 June 2025.

Pack your bags, book a hotel and come to Copenhagen! 3daysofdesign is open to the general public and everyone is invited to visit the showrooms, exhibitions, workshops and design talks. All events are free of charge.
