Get inspired on what to experience during 3daysofdesign 2024.

Meet Kristina May, founder and owner of AM Copenhagen, a graphic and design studio. Kristina May is design & branding strategist, keynote speaker and podcast host of the podcast Design Kan...

Here are Kristina May's top three recommendations to explore during 3daysofdesign 2024:

"I am most looking forward to Copenhagen buzzing with design, change, creativity, and a determination to dream and achieve those dreams. This is especially relevant to the sustainable agenda, but also to many other areas where design can be a significant part of the solution, such as combating loneliness, fostering inclusion for people with disabilities, and more.

The events I am most excited about are quite diverse. The first is "DARE TO DREAM...SMALL" featuring Moana and Elisa's innovative approach to small living spaces, hosted by Karup Design. I believe that if we are to tackle our significant climate challenges in the construction industry, the trend of tiny living will become increasingly relevant, and I am eager to learn more about it.

Another event I am looking forward to is "The Importance and Implementation of Circularity for Sustainable Progress" -  a collaboration between Wehlers, Novo Nordisk, CF Møller, and Letbek Zirg Solutions. Real change requires the involvement of major players, and this collaboration certainly fits that.

The last event is one that nurtures my own creativity as an educated designer. It's a Glassblowing workshop at BLÆS, which has long been on my wish list to try. I love being transported back to the craftsmanship, the human touch, and the tangible aspects of design, especially when much of what I will experience at 3daysofdesign is at a higher level of creativity than my own."

Since its inception in 2013, Signe Byrdal Terenziani has facilitated the growth of the design community in her role as Managing Director. It all began as a small design event held in an old warehouse in Nordhavn, a harbour area overlooking Copenhagen’s waterfront. Four Danish brands launched the event as a joint initiative: Montana, Erik Jørgensen (now owned by Fredericia Furniture), Anker & Co, and Kvadrat. At that time, Copenhagen lacked a proper design festival, since the previous annual furniture fair at Bella Center closed down some years before.

Today, the 3daysofdesign festival extends to the entire city of Copenhagen and is considered the most significant annual design festival in Scandinavia and Northern Europe.

Each year since its inception, 3daysofdesign has grown in popularity exponentially. In 2024, over 400 brands exhibited at the festival, where over 45.000 visitors could choose from as many as 500 events to attend in various design districts across Copenhagen, such as design talks, product launches, networking, etc.

3daysofdesign takes place every year in Copenhagen mainly in showrooms and galleries during June, Wednesday to Friday. In 2025 the festival will be held from 18 — 20 June 2025.

Pack your bags, book a hotel and come to Copenhagen! 3daysofdesign is open to the general public and everyone is invited to visit the showrooms, exhibitions, workshops and design talks. All events are free of charge.
