Bringing you function with quiet elegance. Led by Hironori Tsukue, JAPAN FORM embodies a blend of understated elegance and functionality. A native of Japan with a background in interior and furniture design and experience in Sweden, Tsukue curates modern essentials that incorporate Japanese aesthetics and craftsmanship. His 30 years of living in Sweden has given him a unique perspective and revealed parallels between Japan and Scandinavia. Both cultures value everyday objects, prioritise comfort and beauty, and value sustainable craftsmanship. Offering timeless designs for different lifestyles, Tsukue's mission is to showcase Japan's creative prowess globally.

JAPAN FORM presents Hirotaka Tobimatsu's 'Vessel of Light', featuring meticulously crafted porcelain lampshades. These lampshades blend seamlessly into the room like alabaster when unlit, and emit a soft, warm glow when lit. Originally from Saga, a historic centre of porcelain production in Japan, and now based in Tokyo, Tobimatsu draws inspiration from Western milk glass lampshades of the 1920s, bridging traditions in his craft. The collection comprises 32 intricately designed and customisable models, around 20 of which will be on display. Combining traditional Japanese craftsmanship with modern aesthetics, these sophisticated lampshades bring elegance and poetry to any space, private or public, creating a serene and welcoming ambience.

Hemverk is a collection of wall clocks that unite form and function with their minimalist Scandinavian style and simplicity. The design is clean, simple and elegant, the better to highlight the most important function of the clock: to tell the time. After all, time is the most important feature. All the clocks are produced and assembled by hand in a small workshop in Denmark, with great attention to detail. Every clock is made uniquely for each order, which ensures a responsible production process and avoiding overproduction. Their minimalist design gives our clocks a distinct character and there are many options for both clock hands and clock faces, combining colours and materials based on personal preferences.

Since its inception in 2013, Signe Byrdal Terenziani has facilitated the growth of the design community in her role as Managing Director. It all began as a small design event held in an old warehouse in Nordhavn, a harbour area overlooking Copenhagen’s waterfront. Four Danish brands launched the event as a joint initiative: Montana, Erik Jørgensen (now owned by Fredericia Furniture), Anker & Co, and Kvadrat. At that time, Copenhagen lacked a proper design festival, since the previous annual furniture fair at Bella Center closed down some years before.

Today, the 3daysofdesign festival extends to the entire city of Copenhagen and is considered the most significant annual design festival in Scandinavia.

Each year since its inception, 3daysofdesign has grown in popularity exponentially. In 2023, over 250 brands exhibited at the festival, where visitors could choose from as many as 500 events to attend in various design districts across Copenhagen, such as design talks, networking events, etc.

3daysofdesign takes place every year in Copenhagen mainly during the second week of June from Wednesday to Friday. In 2024 the festival will be held from 12 - 14 June.
