Not Just Another Manifesto
“More than anything, I wanted our festival to create meaningful moments that add depth and dimension to our existence.”
When people ask me if we have a manifesto, I’m reminded of some of the questions I asked myself when 3daysofdesign was a start-up 11 years ago.
How can people experience design beyond the design itself? How can design contribute to the wellbeing of people and the planet? And how can people enjoy insights and connections that last beyond the 3 days? More than anything, I wanted our festival to create meaningful moments that add depth and dimension to our existence.
I still do.
It’s the reason why 3daysofdesign is a platform of global exposure for both emerging and established designers. An exclusive festival that’s inclusive of everyone to visit. A meeting place, where creatives and consumers can discuss, debate, network and knowledge share. United as a community to champion design as a catalyst for positive change.
Unlike other design festivals, 3daysofdesign is not a commercially-driven venture, as such. Instead, it’s more about storytelling than selling. It’s about passion, applauding talent, celebrating creativity and connecting with like-minded souls who see the potential of design to help make the world a better place.
Our aspiration is to arm our creative community with knowledge. To design purpose-led spaces that don't just look beautiful, but that also have an intentional impact on our behaviour, our well-being, and on society as a whole. We go out of our way to support and promote brands and initiatives that challenge the current state of our industry, with podcasts, articles and symposiums to advance the agenda even further.
Denmark has always advocated the democracy of design. Meaning, that good design should be accessible to everyone. In much the same way, I’ve always wanted visitors who are curious about design to be able to attend our festival for free. From architects, interior designers, stylists and buyers to the press, creators, influencers and the general public.

Consequently, our curated selection of brands from Denmark and abroad are comprised of people driven by a profound passion for design. People who want to make a difference, and who feel an imperative, as members of the global design industry, to co-create a future we can all look forward to.
My overall desire is that 3daysofdesign continues to be a forward-thinking, must-see design destination offering insights, immersive experiences and connections that last well beyond the 3 days. Inspired by trailblazers and thought-leaders who are shaping the creative landscape of tomorrow.
Design has the ability to influence our mindset, mood and emotions. From the compelling appeal of a design’s shape, size, colour and materiality, to interior design concepts conducive to conversation, collaboration or contemplation. Design informs how we connect with our surroundings, the environment – and each other. Which is why we encourage creatives to explore designs with a raison d'être beyond form and function.
In essence, the power of design lies in its ability to transform spaces and, in doing so, the lives of the people who inhabit them.
So if you’re wondering if we have a manifesto, this is it.
