Daydreaming Objects is represented by a Copenhagen-based creative duo: lighting designer Ruta Palionyte and architect Ieva Baranauskaite. Combining diverse skills, the duo creates light objects that go beyond mere function, telling stories and infusing everyday spaces with dreaminess. They approach a blend of unexpected materials, curiosity-driven research, and bold experimentation, pushing the boundaries of creativity in lighting design. In 2024, the creative studio Daydreaming Objects launched their new lighting series, Soft Solids at gallery "Vartai" in Vilnius. The Soft Solids explore the intentional use and repurposing of natural material—wax, reflecting on its potential for regeneration within design practice.

The Soft Solids light objects explore the potential and repurposing of natural wax. A blend of stearin and soy wax encodes environmentally friendly renewal processes, embodying biomorphic forms that symbolize regeneration in nature. Wax is viewed as a versatile material for creation and re-creation. The nature of wax accentuates the diversity within the design process, combining various manufacturing methods: handcraft, digital 3D modelling, and upcycling. The Soft Solids explore the balance of resistance and fragility, functionality, and sustainable adaptability within the object. They raise questions about the potential implications of adopting a "soft solid" strategy in contemporary design and consumer behaviors.

Since its inception in 2013, Signe Byrdal Terenziani has facilitated the growth of the design community in her role as Managing Director. It all began as a small design event held in an old warehouse in Nordhavn, a harbour area overlooking Copenhagen’s waterfront. Four Danish brands launched the event as a joint initiative: Montana, Erik Jørgensen (now owned by Fredericia Furniture), Anker & Co, and Kvadrat. At that time, Copenhagen lacked a proper design festival, since the previous annual furniture fair at Bella Center closed down some years before.

Today, the 3daysofdesign festival extends to the entire city of Copenhagen and is considered the most significant annual design festival in Scandinavia.

Each year since its inception, 3daysofdesign has grown in popularity exponentially. In 2023, over 250 brands exhibited at the festival, where visitors could choose from as many as 500 events to attend in various design districts across Copenhagen, such as design talks, networking events, etc.

3daysofdesign takes place every year in Copenhagen mainly during the second week of June from Wednesday to Friday. In 2024 the festival will be held from 12 - 14 June.
